Yes, It's True Stamp by SummerLovesPeace Yes, It's True Stamp by SummerLovesPeace
"Yes, I love Ivan Braginsky but YES, I also know about the 1917 Bolshevik revolution that lead to the Soviet Union!"

That's what I am. Plenty others are, plenty others aren't.
<rant>
I used to get kinda pissed by that anti-Hetalia group- then I read their page and realized they're mostly just a bunch of butthurt people who don't want to hear any other person's opinion.
These people were not in WW2. Even if you had family in it, it still wasn't you.
Go see :icondrnickplz: for your :iconbutthurtplz:
I like dark humor as well; so No I'm not the kind to get offended too easily...but I do like to argue.

For me, at least, Hetalia made me more interested in the real history of different countries. I'd always liked learning things (I still find the Civil War pretty boring though- but WWII and Vietnam were interesting :XD:) and while my focus in my younger days may not have been history as much as it was space (A day on Venus is longer than a year on Venus, did you know?) I did watch plenty History Channel. My favorite subject was Geography. And I would've been into WW2 but MY PUBLIC SCHOOL WON'T EACH THAT SHIT TILL THE END OF 10TH GRADE and my aunt tried to explain it to me before and it was confusing...Wikipedia didn't help too much either. But I'm now reading "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich" and it's actually quite interesting.

And if you think Hetalia is disrespectul of history you obviously haven't seen the one picture of Hitler and Stalin in bed together. And seriously, don't you know there's a war on? Innocent people are dying in places from Iraq to Darfur to China; and you need to spend your time hating on personified countries? Wow. Your priorities are tremendous.

tl;dr BUTTHURT, BUTTHURT EVERYWHERE
</rant>

I love Hetalia and its idea but to tell you the truth I don't take it seriously. Sure it has interesting insights into history but let's face it. It's somewhat biased and not completely accurate.

I'm using this! Btw. I have liked history before liking Hetalia. I only know the manga since I heard that the anime is not so good, so I won't watch it. I would add that Hetalia does not have much to do with history, the characters are based off of the stereotypes of the different nations so I don't understand what is the issue. It's funny to read Hetalia but it's not meant to teach history. It's just the people in the fandom who are weird...

Kinda ironic: people complain about Hetalia but watch The Simpsons, Family Guy and South Park, which insults WW2 much more than Hetalia.

Hetalia is not my cup of tea, but I get your statement.

I have watched 300, Spartacus, Borgias and Tudors. I have watched many "historical" movies. Call it my guilty pleasure.

Yet I am aware of the fact that these movies and series are more fantasy than history.

If you know that movies, series, games, comics and such are not historically correct and won't teach you history, there is nothing wrong with enjoying them. (And you can learn from them when you look up the names of people afterwards, together with historical events.)

This is very true... Thank you for this stamp. :hug:
I've been a history nerd for all my life, and I probably always will be. I find it fascinating. But I still love Hetalia.
And that Anti-Hetalia group is just full of a bunch of people who have nothing better to do than complain...

I agree, Hetalia has made me more interested in real world history. It's given me a reason to go research things I would never have known about before, like Sealand. I had never even heard of that place before Hetalia, and now I can go around telling people the entire history of it... because of Hetalia.

Uhhhh, so much butthurt!

So once again, thank you. You are a god.

I read up on history and politics when I'm bored, and I still love Hetalia. To me, it gives me relief from the dark times.
And I guess to the butthurt people, I'll have to prove I'm good at history.
The Ottoman Empire was said to be the longest lasting empire, longer than Rome.
Joseph Stalin had a wife who he loved dearly, but she died. Then he remarried and had 3 children, 2 boys and a girl. After the Soviet Union collapsed, the daughter moved to America.
Also, might I add, that Cuba and America were once allies. Till I think President Kennedy cut off the trading route.

*Sorry for ranting, I get carried away a lot..._.*
Not every Hetalia fan disrespects history. So thank you for this stamp,

Yes. Just yes.
Thank you. ;u;
I've always been infatuated with history, probably because I inherited it from my dad (he's a HUGE Civil War buff >_>). What frustrates me is that people can't see that Hetalia is satire. (English lesson!) Satire blends critical attitude with humor and wit to the end that human institutions or humanity may be improved. (English lesson terminated.) The point of Hetalia is really to show that we should embrace our humanity as well as others', no matter whose borders we live within. Hetalia also gives little glimpses of what world peace would be like. One example I can immediately think of, though there probably is a better one, would be the "Wa! Wa! World Ondo" song.
Sorry for the slight rant, but I had to get that off my chest ^^;
It's a great stamp! Now if only I had a Premium Membership to put this on my profile...

I've loved history since I was in middle school, and Hetalia makes me appreciate it even more. :D People need to realize that it's more of a satire on countries' cultures than anything.
Lol, and actually I loooove learning about the Civil War. :D WWII is incredibly interesting though. I am becoming more invested in it. (and NOT just because of APH. D-Day saddens and fascinates me.)

Anyways, awesome stamp, bro. :thumbsup:

I think if you want to be a real fan of hetalia you must be at least a bit interested in history :XD: History was always boring for me but with hetalia it wasnīt anymore. Since many stuff in the hetalia fandom is history and mostly not in a funny way. The hetalia anime actually isnīt THAT much about history. Itīs alot of non history related stuff. But thatīs not a bad thing :lol: I love both! The fanservice an the history. But come on! Isnīt the fanservice boring without the history behind the characters?

I think most hetalia haters are just happy to find a reason to bash hetalia. Because hetalia is in NO WAY offending! They just donīt have the courage to admit that they dislike it because they think itīs boring/gay/stupid/not funny etc. But thatīs none of my business.
